Shattered Love

Coming from a world of black and white
He brought color into my life
Love is often rushed without the understanding of the love placed in one’s hand

Bound to drop the ball
Shattering our realities as if it’s made of glass
Broken pieces of trust
Scattered within one’s plans

Rebuilding burns like the alcohol that I yearn on those lonesome nights
The death of our love was accompanied by black roses
Shadows that told our fate but my intuition ignored it

Rose petals spread as the ashes thicken
Watered by my broken history
Where smiles seem to creep

Weeds stunt the growth of our love’s complexity
Fragile as a delicate flower
Indecency placed beneath me and my heart’s disaster
