Love Ends Like a Death

There one moment
Then gone the next
Flowers that were once freshly bloomed
Now dried up
Crumbled in ruins

A presence that’s always so hard to confine
Outgrowing the hearts of others
It’s truth only noticed once not within reach
It’s true meaning taken for granted once sorrow has indulged from no protection

An empty and lost cavity
A future that must be laid to rest
And a past that seems impossible to grasp
Torn by the reconstruction needed to continue on through life’s uncertainties

The heartache hits closer to home because there will be no more
Bitter endings that says it all never meant anything
