Idle Dreams

Dreams become idle once we accept defeat
Even with years of hard work we let reality get too comfortable
While letting unhappiness make us weak

Some afraid to stand alone on two feet
They’d rather follow than stumble upon their own pathway
Large trees place shade on what we truly want out of life

We can see it
We can feel it
And some days we can taste it in the air

It’s presence is relevant
But we remain oblivious to what lies before us
And what lies within us
